If New Year’s wasn’t enough of a bang to get 2019 going, I didn’t have to wait long until the next big party.
On Thursday, January 3, Babbo restaurant in Prestwich celebrated their first birthday, after a stylish new rebrand last year.
Nearly 100 guests, including family and friends, VIPs and regulars of the restaurant, were invited to celebrate the night with the owners of the popular Italian restaurant.
The guests were welcomed by a prosecco reception with a strawberry garnish or a large gin and tonic sponsored by Sipsmith Gin.
The much-loved gin company even hosted a gin station, where brand ambassador Charlene Holt was sampling a steamy hot sloe gin with gingerbread syrup.
Throughout the evening, some gorgeous canapes were served, including a particular favourite being pear, walnut and gorgonzola bruschetta.
Head chef, Kevin, created an impressive salmon which was dished out to guests to enjoy with homemade breadsticks and parsnip crisps.
The guests were entertained by the award-winning saxophone player and singer Carlo Sax, who got everyone’s feet tapping and on the dancefloor
The cocktail flair bar show was a firm favourite, with audible gasps as Martin from Mo Bar threw bottles with sparklers around the room to make some impressive and tasty cocktails for the guests.
To finish the evening, we all cheered as the sparklers and confetti cannon were set off with a bang with the cutting of the bespoke birthday cake.
Guests were treated to a goody bag from Northern Revive Magazine featuring Leanne Brown on the cover.
The event was organised by The Edge Events, who managed the guest list all the way through to the finer details of the event.
The whole evening was a great success, from the food to the entertainment. Thank you to The Edge Events for the press invite and I look forward to returning to Babbo for a lovely evening of exquisite Italian food!
Even after a modern revamp, Babbo’s (formally Saporitos) still has a loyal following for its excellent food and service. With a wide variety of cocktails and wines as well as some new tempting desserts, Babbo has found the recipe to suit all.
